How are we performing and how can we improve? A Peer Review and 'Best Practice' assessment

We have also been comparing Sacramento and its transit system to other cities in California, elsewhere in North America and in Europe. This �Peer Review� allows us to assess Sacramento�s performance and identify where we can make improvements. We are looking for examples of �best practice� that we can bring to the planning of Sacramento�s TMP. The cities that we are reviewing as part of the Peer review are:

• Salt Lake City, UT
• Kansas City, MO
• Indianapolis, IN
• Minnesota/St Paul, MN
• Cleveland, OH
• Charlotte, NC
• Memphis, TN
• Vancouver, Canada
• London, England
• Nottingham, England
• Dublin, Ireland
• Montpellier, France

While many of these cities are clearly not immediately comparable on a like-for-like basis with Sacramento, there may be specific elements of their city, their land-use planning or their transit system that we can learn from. The first stage of the peer review is currently being finalized and once complete, the report and key findings will be posted on the TMP website.
