Tram
On behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council, Transport Initiatives Edinburgh are promoting a network of tram lines in Edinburgh as a key component of investment in a high quality integrated transport network. At present a network of two tram lines is proposed, one to the north and one to the west of the city.
The tram network will make travel around the city more accessible for all and help make journeys less reliant on the car, therefore significantly contributing to reductions in congestion and pollution.
It is planned that trams will be running in Edinburgh in 2009.
